Room19
The door opens and Jora almost steps forward before Safir grabs his arm, pulling him back to the threshold.
The space before them has no floor. The room opens onto a pit that falls away into darkness.
It takes a moment for their eyes to focus but soon they can see a nearly invisible shape which Safir points out hugging the wall. The shape is a narrow ledge, circling the room. It has been painted to blend in with the pit and appear invisible.
Hovering in the air just within the doorway are two mirrors.
In the black mirror, Jora and the others link arms and step out into thin air over the pit. They hover in the air, magically supported.
In the white mirror, a rope drops from the ceiling and Conrad leaps to grab the rope and swing to the far side.
“So our choices are to shimmy along a narrow ledge, swing like an ape on a rope, or hope that the wizard set a spell to let us walk on thin air?” Safir blows a loud raspberry toward the ceiling. “How about we just turn around?”
What choice should the adventurers make?
