Room18
The room beyond the door is warmly paneled in cherry wood. Covering almost every inch of the walls are life-sized paintings in baroque frames.
Each painting is of a man or a monster caged in a prison cell. The monsters are the stuff of nightmare, all fangs, and claws with glowing eyes that seem to follow them around the room. The paintings of men are not much better. The men shown are lecherous and vile; they seem to leer at Lamia and Safir as they move around the room.
“Hey Lamia, I think that one wants a date,” Conrad says and Lamia punches his shoulder hard enough to leave a bruise.
“Jerk.”
Jora shudders; it feels as if each of the men wishes to leap from the paintings to harm them.
Four doors are visible, one for each wall of the room. The door colors are black, white, red, and green.
There are two mirrors in the room. In each mirror, they see that the paintings have come to life. The men and monsters move as if alive.
In the black mirror, Jora sees himself open the cell of a man who looks less vile than the others.
In the white mirror, Conrad uses his sword to slash all the paintings to ribbons.
The images fade before the results are apparent.
What choice should the adventurers make?
