Room5

The room beyond the door is hung with expensive tapestries. Beautiful designs sewn with colorful thread make the room feel almost like a comfortable sitting room. If they weren’t trapped in a wizard’s dungeon this might be a pleasant place to rest.

“Whose flag is that?” Conrad points out a thin banner of cloth hanging over a tapestry of battle.

The flag is made of three mismatched cloths which are crudely stitched together, white at the top, green in the middle and black at the bottom. At the top of the banner, roughly stitched into place is a shard of a broken mirror.

“I don’t recognize that from any kingdom,” Lamia says. “Maybe it’s someone’s personal banner left as a marker for future adventurers?”

“Does it show us the way out?” Jora sounds annoyed. “If it doesn’t, I couldn’t care less.”

He pointed ignores the crude banner and surveys the room. On one side of the room stands a massive white door.

Opposite this door is a black door.

Two ornate mirrors stand in the center of the room. One has a frame of white wood, the other of black.

The surface of each mirror reflects the group as they enter the room. When they draw close, both mirrors ripple like ponds disturbed by a strong breeze. Their reflections are quickly dismissed by the ripples and a new scene is magically displayed in each.

In the black mirror Conrad approaches a tapestry with a forest scene and peers behind it.

In the white mirror they see Conrad approach another tapestry with a scene very similar to their hometown. He peeks behind this tapestry as well.

Both scenes fade away before revealing what is hidden by the tapestries.

“Well why can’t we just look for ourselves?” Conrad peers around the room, searching for the tapestries from the mirrors.

“Those tapestries don’t exist here,” Lamia says. “They must be in one of those shadows of the dungeon the letter spoke of.”
